APDT Outstanding Trainer of the Year 2010
NOTE: Contestants must be members of APDT.
This award is for an APDT member who exemplifies the APDT spirit through their commitment to the Organization, by upholding the APDT Mission, and use of positive reinforcement training.
Requirements
Nominations should explain why this person should be considered for the award. The following information will be considered by the committee:
- Efforts to uphold the APDT Mission Statement.
- Consistent dog training through positive training methods.
- Consistent education of people on positive dog training methods.
- Emphasis of efforts to enhance the human-canine relationship.
Nomination Requirements
Contact information: Name, e-mail address, mailing address and telephone number of nominator and person who is being nominated. Name, mailing address, e-mail address, and telephone number of anyone else mentioned in the nomination.
Nominated Trainer Requirements
- Education you provide to your community
- Shelters and Community groups you work with
- Other ways you add to your community such as educational events or speakers you have sponsored in your community
- Professional development and educational events you have attended in the last five years
- Veterinarians, trainers and other professionals in your community who refer to you
- Other trainers to whom you refer clients
- A release form (download here) giving APDT permission to verify this information.
Methods for Submitting Your Application
APDT would prefer that all Award applications be submitted in electronic format. You may send your application for the APDT Outstanding Trainer of the Year Award by E-mail: awards@apdt.com
Unable to send your application by email? You may send a hard copy application. However, APDT does strongly suggest that if you choose to mail your application that you use a tracking number to ensure safe and timely delivery. Any application received after the deadline date will not be eligible for the award.
Award
The winner will receive up to $1,500 to go toward travel, meals and hotel and free admission to the APDT Educational Conference. The winner will receive recognition and a certificate. The deadline for entry is May 11, 2010.
