Dr. Hughes received her veterinary degree and PhD in genetics from the University of California, Davis. After completing a three-year veterinary genetics residency, Dr. Hughes held an associate clinical professor position at the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. She also has been published in multiple academic publications including a manuscript in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association and contributions for publication in Veterinary Clinics of North America Small Animal Practice: Pediatrics and Large Animal Internal Medicine 4th Ed.
