Ken Ramirez has been a professional trainer for more than 30 years.
He is currently the VP of Animal Collections and Animal Training at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium, where he oversees the daily training programs for the entire animal collection. Ken’s experience includes work with guide dogs, search and rescue dogs, standard pet training and a variety of exotic animals ranging from whales and dolphins to birds, big cats, and primates.
Ken is a regular speaker at Karen Pryor’s ClickerExpos, the California Narcotic Canine Association, and teaches a graduate course on animal training for Western Illinois University.
Ken has just completed the first season of the television series “Talk to the Animals” that takes positive reinforcement training into the home to assist pet owners in solving difficult training dilemmas. He is also the author of the book Animal Training: Successful Animal Management through Positive Reinforcement.
