Chris Bach is a lot like you: She loves dogs! She began to study them as soon as she was old enough to hold a leash. The result of her life-long passion for dogs is her unique, innovative, reliable, and most importantly, distinctly dog-friendly approach to training called THE THIRD WAY.

As a youngster she became enthralled with the sport of obedience and learned to put a high priority on teaching skills that were reliable under any circumstances. She was also fascinated at how different training theories and techniques affected dogs and their owners both positively and negatively. She set her sights on learning all she could about dogs and the dog/human relationship to develop a way of training that produced prompt, reliable, and accurate responses to commands while also enriching the dog/handler bond.

As an adult, Chris used her evolving theories and techniques to become a top obedience trial competitor. As her knowledge continued to expand, she progressed to having a loyal following of students who also competed successfully in obedience as well as other dog sports.

To broaden her knowledge and expertise about what people wanted and needed their dogs to learn, Chris then branched out into noncompetitive venues. Through local veterinary referrals, she spent years counseling pet owners about behavior and training. She became actively involved with the service dog industry when she donated one of her prized German Shepherd dogs to a deserving recipient.

In addition, her love for working with puppies resulted in her developing a Puppy Kindergarten class curriculum that is cutting-edge in the industry today.

Chris is a charter board member of the very prestigious International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She was asked to join the distinguished American Humane Association committee, which brought together top U.S. trainers to build a code of ethics and guidelines for logical and humane dog training. She wrote a series of articles for a renowned dog training magazine and continues to author manuscripts about THE THIRD WAY.

Chris is also a popular speaker about dog behavior and training in both the United States and Canada because of her unique and innovative approach to enhancing all aspects of the dog/human relationship.

Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, is home to Chris, her wonderful and supportive husband, Bill, and their precious pooches Belgian Malinois, Brass, and Border Collie, Stunner.
