Kimberly grew up on Long Island, NY with a family committed to breeding and showing dogs and horses. Riding and showing dogs from age 3; Kimberly has always had a passion for and finesse with animals. In addition to dogs and horses, other family pets included cats, chickens, cockatiels, guinea pigs, mice, an opossum and a raccoon.

Kimberly graduated from SUNY Morrisville Agricultural & Technical College with Dual A.A. S. degrees in two disciplines of Equine Science in 1984 and SUNY Ulster Community College with an A.A.S. in Veterinary Technology in 2009. She spent 16 years as a horse trainer and riding instructor before becoming a full time professional dog trainer in 1997. In 2000, Kimberly opened k9Crazy Play Skool in Kingston, N.Y. She and her husband, Bill, teach obedience and agility classes. She enjoys working with puppy owners, aggressive and fearful dogs, and helping people find positive ways to communicate with their animals.  Kimberly received her CPDT-KA in 2004 and CABC (certified animal behavior consultant) – dogs/horses in 2005. Additionally, she is currently employed as a veterinary behavior technician by Veterinary Behavior Consultations, P.C., working with Dr. Ellen Lindell V.M.D., D.A.C.V.B. in various clinics upstate New York.

Kimberly is devoted to continuing education having completing over 1600 CE hours since 1994, attending conferences, seminars, and workshops. In May 2010, she completed a 2 week veterinary technician internship at U.C. Davis at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital Clinical Behavior Service with Dr. Melissa Bain D.V.M., D.A.C.V.B.  Since the internship, Kimberly has decided to apply her training knowledge to the orphan cat she bottle raised, now 2 years old. Dagny’s recall, sit, and food bowl stays are great!  Kimberly is a tutor for the veterinary technology program and a regular guest lecturer for SUNY Ulster’s behavior medicine class, guiding a interactive journey through enrichment and equipment.  Kimberly is continuing to pursue her formal education this fall in Animal Science and Psychobiology.

Kimberly travels frequently to present seminars, judge Rally and Obedience trials, and attend conferences. When she is home, she enjoys time with her husband, 5 dogs (Border Collie, Pit mix, Cairn Terrier, Siberian Husky, English Springer Spaniel), a cat, and her horse (who lives on a farm next door).
