As you begin to pack and ponder what to take to San
Diego, keep in mind that San Diego’s average daytime temperature is a mild 74°

Airline Baggage Allowances
Most airline guidelines require packed bags weigh less than 40 or 50
lbs. Remember to check with your airline for detailed guidelines and for charges
that may apply for checking bags. Most airlines allow one carry-on item such as
a laptop bag, briefcase, purse or small bag. Most airlines let you carry a
jacket or hand-held items. A purse may be counted as your personal item, so stow
it away into your other bag as you go through check-in.
The US Tour Association has guidelines for carry-on and check-in luggage
requirements for different air carriers:
www.ustoa.com/consumernews/airlinebaggage.cfm.
Packing for Airline Carry-On Bags
Pack prescription medications in the original case with prescription
information affixed. You will be required to severely limit the amount of
liquids you carry on board. You are expected to carry all on-board liquid
toiletries in containers smaller than 3 oz. and all contained within one quart
sized transparent plastic bag. This includes gels such as lip gloss, deodorant
or chap sticks. There are limitations on other objects you may carry on, and
what you may check in. Always check the latest TSA guidelines before you leave
for the airport.
