Dr. Horowitz is the author of the 2009 best-seller Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know. She is a researcher of dog cognition and professor of psychology and animal behavior at Barnard College, Columbia University, in New York City. Horowitz earned her PhD in Cognitive Science at the University of California at San Diego. Before studying dogs, she studied the cognition of rhinoceros, bonobos, and humans.
