| Valli Parthasarathy, PhD, DVM |
Dr. Parthasarathy has a long history in the field of behavior. Her first experience was in high school, where she assisted with a study on kitten socialization. From there, she continued to study behavior of various animals, eventually earning a Masters in Animal Science from UC Davis studying ram reproductive behavior. She earned her PhD in Psychology, specializing in Companion Animal Behavior, from the University of Georgia, and completed her veterinary degree at UGA.
Dr. Parthasarathy co-founded Positive Pet People Dog Training Center, the first positive-based training center in Athens, Georgia. In Portland, Oregon she practiced general medicine for three years before establishing a behavior-only practice to bring veterinary behavior services to the Portland area.
Her overall goal is to bring together the fields of dog training, behavior and veterinary services. Dr. Parthasarathy is an executive board member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, and is the incoming President of AVSAB.
