| Camille Ward, MS, PhD |
Dr. Camille Ward received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor studying social cognition in domestic dogs. Dr. Ward also focused on the study of vigilant behavior in foraging American crows. In addition to her work with dogs and crows, she has conducted behavioral studies on lemurs and a variety of fish species.
Dr. Ward has lectured nationally on cognition and social behavior, has taught animal behavior at the University of Michigan, and has published on animal behavior in a variety of scientific journals. Her current research focuses on dog-to-dog social interactions and how dogs negotiate their social relationships with one another.
In 1999, she started her own dog training business, Teacher’s Pet, LLC where she specializes in pet dog training and private behavioral consultations. Her training philosophy stresses relationship building and working from the dog’s point of view. She is currently completing a book on dog obedience and behavior.
Dr. Ward has competed in agility and obedience with her dogs. She currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with her Husband, Don; their Labrador retriever, Marty; Doberman Pincher, Acorn; and German shepherd, Sage.
