Polite Walking: Tips for Trainers, Instructors and Their Clients

with Gail Fisher

This webinar offers a positive approach to teaching owners and dogs polite, loose leash walking. With an appreciation of how the dog views pulling, and what a loose leash means to the dog, participants will develop an understanding of the goal of walking together in partnership with the dog. The webinar includes step-by-step procedures to train dogs walk politely in connection with the handler, and strategies to encourage consistent practice at home with the ultimate goal of human and canine students happily walking together in any environment.

Learning Objectives:

1) Dogs and people view “loose leash walking differently”. Participants will understand how LLW is defined by both ends of the leash.

2) Participants will develop an understanding of clearly communicating with the dog when it is, and is not in LLW position

3) Participants will learn how to deal with errors to quickly eliminate them.
