Learning Objectives
(1) To understand critical periods of psychological and behavioral development in puppies and adolescents to enable breeders, shelter and rescue workers, trainers, behavioral consultants and owners to maximize a dog's genetic potential, avoiding potential pitfalls at important times in the dog's life. (2) To understand how critical period deficiencies manifest in adult dog behavior, and strategies to potentially overcome them.
Presenter Information
With 40 years professional experience, over 20 years breeding and raising English Mastiffs, Gail's has been a pioneer in many aspects of dog rearing, training, education and behavior. She developed the first University program for dog trainers in the world, as well as a course for dog breeders. Through her All Dogs Academy, she has continuously provided education for trainers for 30 years. In 1993, she opened All Dogs Gym, pioneering the field of multi-dog interactive daycare. Her All Dogs Gym is the largest dog activity center in the Northeast and one of the largest all-clicker-training programs in the country. Gail's latest book, THE THINKING DOG-Crossover to Clicker Training is the quintessential manual for dog trainers interested in clicker training. She is also author of two award-winning books, training manuals, countless articles in major dog publications, and a weekly newspaper column. Gail's programs and seminars have earned her acclaim as an International presenter.
