Presenting an APDT eLearning Course

We are looking for new, fresh and innovative proposals in our efforts to provide a premier educational experience for our members. Please review the guidelines below prior to submitting a proposal.

What is a eLearning course?

What is a eLearning course?

An eLearning course is a 60- to 90-minute web-based session that features a PowerPoint slideshow and video clips (if desired). Up to 10 videos may be included, limited to 100mg each. Attendee questions are asked via typed chat, moderated by an APDT representative, and answered verbally by the speaker. eLearning courses are recorded, and the recordings are available for at least one year unless otherwise notified.

Speakers need a land line telephone (no mobile/cellular lines please), reliable, fast Internet access, and a PowerPoint presentation. Additional details can be found here. PDF versionThere is no live video of the presenter, so a webcam is NOT needed. Speakers call into the toll-free number at the scheduled date and time, and their voice will be broadcast via attendee computers.

How do I submit a proposal?

How do I submit a proposal?

Submit proposals online via our form. You will receive a confirmation ID your submission has been received. Please save this confirmation ID.

Before you begin your submission please review the following instructions carefully. Incomplete submissions will NOT be reviewed.

  1. Collect all the information you will need in advance.
  2. We suggest that you prepare your submission using word processing software as there is no spell check in the online form, and you can also save your submission in case your browser times out during the submission process. Software packages will also allow you to perform a word count for the sections in which a maximum word count is specified.
  3. Copy and paste your submission into the appropriate fields.
  4. Complete all required fields. These fields are indicated with an asterisk (*)
  5. You must complete a new submission for each presentation.
  6. Print/save a copy of your submission for future reference.

* eLearning course presentations must not contain any type of promotional marketing or selling of any product or service.
* The eLearning course presentation will be recorded for future use by the APDT and APDT will be the sole copyright owner of the recording file.

If you are selected you will be contacted by the APDT Education Programs Coordinator. You will then schedule a date, receive information on guidelines and deadlines, a contract, tax forms, and a required APDT PowerPoint template.

If a proposal is not accepted, suggestions may be made for modification (we want to work with you!)

When is an eLearning course date scheduled?

Once an eLearning course submission is accepted, a presentation date is scheduled and a contract is created. All materials must be received no later than one month prior to the event (including a signed contract, signed tax form, the near final PowerPoint presentation in the required template, and any videos), or the date may be canceled. Do I get paid for presenting am eLearning course?

Do I get paid for presenting an eLearning course?

Yes, presenters receive a percentage of all sales of the eLearning course they present. Details are outlined in your contract, and payments are made quarterly. Sales include that of the live presentation, as well as the recording for one year (unless otherwise arranged).
